DO YOU WANNA GET ROCKED?? We need bands to perform at the Atlanta "Right To Rock" show. You must support the right to freedom and civil liberties. The Libertarian party and NORML will be a big part of this event, but you just have to support freedom in general if you want get involved. Serge Entertainment will be coordinating the Atlanta event, with the first Right To Rock event kicking off in October in Washington, DC. We are seeking a small to medium size venue for this event in the Atlanta area. We've already started scouting for venues (on or near a college campus would be great), but if you have any suggestions, please email them to Sandy Serge at SergeEnt@aol.com. If you are in a rock band (any style of rock), live in or near the Atlanta Metro Area, have a following, and would like to be considered as performer for this event, please send your presskit/CD to:

Reggae Band Raising Funds to Help Free Sudan Slaves
World-folk band Jonkanooz will host a t-shirt benefit and promotional giveaway of their music at the annual West Indian-American Day Parade to be held in Brooklyn on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2002. The carnival attracts over two million visitors to Brooklyn each year. T-shirt sales will go to help free peasants forced into slavery by Arab factions loyal to Sudan's Muslim regime. "What's happening in the Sudan should be an outrage to all human beings," says singer-songwriter Nooz (sascamusic@aol.com). A song from the band's debut CD offers a detailed look at the horrors endured by Sudanese women and children. Many are routinely abducted, raped, beaten, forced to convert to Islam, and sold into slavery, according to human rights groups (CSI - Christian Solidarity International is a..., Sudan, Genocide and Slavery, Freedom Now World News). Nooz wrote "Set Dem Free!" two years ago after reading an article in The New Yorker. "We're committed to the cause of freedom," says the songwriter, "and this song is part of our grassroots effort to create awareness and help free these victims of state-sponsored terrorism." The band's artist page on MP3.com encourages visitors to spread the word by downloading "Set Dem Free!" and e-mailing copies to friends and family. The download is offered free of charge, along with other music samples. Sales of the band's Wake the Town CD, officially slated for release February 10, 2003, will also go to help the Sudanese via human rights groups working in the region. The CD is being released on the band's artist-owned label, SASCA Music. The t-shirt booth will be located across from 55 Eastern Parkway (corner of Underhill), where visitors can sign-up to be part of the Jonkanooz Fans For Freedom (F3) network. For more information on the band and to download "Set Dem Free!" go to MP3.com - Jonkanooz.
