Great Tour For A Great Cause!
For the first time ever, the National Federation of the Blind is using a concert tour as a means of bringing more awareness about blindness to the general public. There could not be a better way to do this than the upcoming Little Buster's Rhythm and Blues Expo, paying tribute to the still alive and well legendary Stax recording artist Little Buster Forehand. Little Buster is a perfect choice for this tour, as he has overcome many adversities - the greatest being his blindness - to become one of the most respected names in R&B history. Little Buster's Soulbrother's Band, led by veteran soul, blues and R&B vocalist Ayanna Hobson will be the headliners for the concerts, which will include guest performances by a plethora of talented musicians including Chris Hiatt, Hans Olson, Mem Shannon, David Bennett Cohen and a number of top local musicians in each market. Along with the shows by the various artists, there will be presentations from the local NFB chapters and an all-star jam at the end of each show. The tour starts in Denver on September 30th and will continue on to Kansas City, New Orleans, Atlanta, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Chicago, Cleveland and Hartford, finishing up on October 19th in New York City. The tour will include performances in such prestigious venues as Kansas City's Folly Theater, New York's Knitting Factory, New Orleans' Howlin' Wolf, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. These shows are a must see for any fans of classic blues and R&B, as well as anyone who wants to help out a great cause - all proceeds from the event will go to the NFB.
