On behalf of the Daniel Pearl Foundation it is our pleasure to extend to you this special invitation to participate in the third annual Daniel Pearl Music Day. a global network of concerts from October 8-17, 2004 dedicated to "Harmony for Humanity." The night after the 2002 brutal murder of our son -- journalist and musician Daniel Pearl -- his friend, conductor George Pehlivanian, dedicated his concert to Danny and remarked "as the orchestra played Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, I finally understood the triumph of hope over despair." Thisexultant concert planted the seed for Daniel Pearl Music Day Ð a week of concerts during which symphony orchestras, bands, choirs, and musicians of all musical genres ring the world with the universal language of music in repudiation of acts of savagery and in a celebration of tolerance, friendship and humanity. We ask that you join us by reaching out to artists and inviting them to participate in this important global network of concerts that Danny's spirit has galvanized. If any of your musicians or friends have a scheduled performance during these dates, or would like to plan an event for this time period, join us simply by adding a dedication to a written program or making a declaration from the stage affirming a commitment to tolerance and humanity.http://www.danielpearl.org/musicday04
