Blam! So it begins .... The 8th Annual "B.O.B." 2006 Battle Of the Bands Festival! is underway! Bands representing alternative, punk, rock, rap, blues, country, goth, hip hop, metal and more are competing for national and regional prizes and cash in the longest running festival of its kind! The Festival began July 1st and runs until September 30th! http://www.worldfok.com
The Cattyshack (bar in Brooklyn) just gave me the go-ahead to start booking Aug. & Sept. If you are interested in being the featured performer during the open mic on a Monday night in August or September, please email me your preferred dates (at least 3 if possible). Let me know how you will help promote the show (get your friends out, put posters up; or if you are from out of town - contact media, magazines, newspapers, online). The bar pays you a $25 guarantee and you play for about 20-25 min, and can sell merch. We are looking to book all types of acts (poetry, burlesque, music, filmmakers etc.) This is a lesbian bar, though you don't have to be queer or a girl to perform. All genders & types perform at the open mic.It is a special, intimate and supportive night. If you perform, please expect to stay for the whole evening, and support all performances, and encourage your friends to do the same. This is what makes Catharsis a uniquely supportive environment and sweet experience.
